Where we're from

Founded by Bobby and Palita Duchowny, Lemongrass House has grown to become a leading provider of handmade spa products to the world's top hotels and spas.

Bobby was born in Malibu, California, and in 1996 he came to Thailand on a movie location assignment, fell in love with the country and decided to stay. He was introduced to an organic farming project and, using his background in aromatherapy that he acquired in the U.S., became interested in extracting pure plant oils from their crops.

Bobby and Palita started making small batches of natural insecticide, using Neem Oil, in the kitchen of their apartment and sold it at the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok. UNICEF in Thailand heard about them and placed large orders for their signature mosquito spray for use by their teams working in the field.

Riding on this success, they relocated to Surin Beach in Phuket and in 2000 started providing premium spa products to the local hotel operations.

Today Lemongrass House is a major manufacturer of professional premium spa products for some of the world’s top hotels and spas such as Four Seasons Resorts, Hilton Hotels, Banyan Tree and Le Meridien, in 30 countries.

Lemongrass House now has more than 50 retail stores in 17 countries, providing professional spa products for consumers to use at home. Its product range includes something for the whole family, even dogs: body creams and lotions, hair care, bath products and room sprays, all still blended and produced by hand in their facility in Cherng Talay, Phuket.

It has a staff of 45 people, most of whom are a part of Bobby and Palita’s extended Thai family.

What we do

Lemongrass House creates fresh handmade products, just one kilogram at a time.

We are strongly committed to the environment, which is reflected in all aspects of our business.  Only the freshest and most natural ingredients are used in our products which are free of preservatives and chemicals. All of the ingredients we use come from safe, renewable resources to ensure our clients love our products as much as we love making them.

Our products are free of sulphates, parabens and dyes. We never, ever test our products on animals - only occasionally on people we love.

How we do it

Our staff uniforms are made of 100% cotton or other natural fabrics. Our shops are equipped with natural wood backdrops and shelves. The packaging of our products is made from 100% recyclable materials. And we're always looking for ways to further reduce Lemongrass House's carbon footprint.
